Hushing the Whisper Campaign

Brian Beutler at Talking Points Memo recaps what he calls the “Whisper Campaign” against Sotomayor, initiated by “several anonymous lawyers and law clerks who tried to run her off the road after it became clear that she was on his short list.”  I’m not quite sure how a few less than glowing stories about Sotomayor amount to a whisper campaign.   Discussion of both the pros and cons are essential to any debate on a potential Supreme Court justice and are all a part of the public vetting process, one we’ve grown to become fiercely in favor of after 8 years of Bush.
