Healthcare Battle: Round 1

The healthcare fight is on.  While the healthcare lobby was busy at the White House yesterday, making promises to Obama to rein in healthcare costs by $2 trillion, the group Health Care for America Now was gearing up to release this new ad:  

The ad campaign targets Democrats who have not yet signed on to the public option of healthcare reform.  This version targets PA, where Specter, since joining the Democratic Party, has said he does not support a public plan.  But, according to exit poll data of PA voters on election day, of the 5 issues voters thought were most important facing the country, 71% of the voters who voted for Obama said healthcare. Based on these numbers and the economic climate, the ad campaign could have a real shot at winning the argument on healthcare reform, putting the pressure on Specter to get in line.
