BBC:  Some 150,000 people, including 120 American, British and French veterans, are expected to attend ceremonies at Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport on Tuesday to pay tributes to those involved in the airlift.

As part of the anniversary events, some 700 tiny parachutes holding sweets are to be dropped over the airport, repeating something the Western pilots did to keep German youngsters’ spirits up.
