  1. To quote The Who, “Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.”

The song “Won’t Get Fooled Again” is about a revolution. In the first verse, there is an uprising. In the middle, the rebels overthrow those in power, but in the end, the new regime becomes just like the old one (“Meet the new boss, same as the old boss”).

And the great wheel keep on turning. Change=the same.

    • I really hope you’re wrong! I’m still hopeful Obama won’t follow the same pattern of past presidents who charmed on the trail but eventually disappointed and disillusioned once inside the WH. On torture, Obama has stated it is DOJ that ultimately decide the legal process/fate for those who wrote and legitimized torture. These limits to the power of the executive branch is something we haven’t seen in 8 years. And I think the DE-politicization of the DOJ is, at this point, arguably one of the best examples of a clear change from Bush.

      • And five years later, what do you think? Did he live up to your hopes?
