Democratic pollster and strategist Celinda Lake is dead on in her analysis of Spitzer’s road to image recovery.  From Politico’s, recent article on Spitzer’s comeback, Lake says:

Spitzer’s former role as the “Sheriff of Wall Street” has made him a natural expert on issues the public is more interested in than ever before. “I don’t think he could have a more ideal time” for a comeback, she says. “I think the issue gave Spitzer a unique platform.”

I’d also add that since the crimes of the real bad guys like Bernie Madoff, Joe Cassano and Richard Fuld have been publicaly revealed, in comparison, Spitzer’s indiscretions seem venial at most.

Here’s a link to an earlier hotfile post on Spitzer’s recovery. Back in December, Spitzer had written a piece for Slate on solutions for the economy that so impressed David Corn of Mother Jones, he called on Obama to replace Summers with Spitzer
