  1. I don’t usually disagree with most of what you say, but I have to here. Yes, the whole nepotism thing stinks. But, it’s always been here and won’t soon be gone.

As for Caroline’s qualifications, I don’t regard this as relevant. What are the qualifications to be a senator? There are plenty of congressmen/senators that come from some very diverse backgrounds. Some with public service experience and others with lives exclusively in the private sector. At the end of the day, this is a decision for New York and it’s governor to make and frankly, a choice that should be made with one question to answer? Who can do the most for the citizenry of New York. In my mind, is there anyone who can be more effective for NY than Caroline? She has the connections. She has the money. She has the political machine behind her. In my mind, if I’m from New York (which I am not, I have my own Kennedy for a senator), I might be pretty happy about her candidacy. It’s not like she’s going to be chairing a committee or anything right off the bat. She’ll be the most junior of senators, learning the system and forming alliances, much like her predecessor did when she became the junior senator from New York.
