  1. If he becomes President, he will have a hard time fulfilling the high expectations so many have. When super-stars fail to be super, they fizzle. Ask Ben Affleck.

For a variety of reasons, many of which have to do with the right wing rule we have had recently in government and for quite a while in our corporations, the US government is in for a continued decline in its overall ability to influence the world. Unfortunately for Senator Obama, he may be placed in the driver’s seat with excessively high expectations just when we find out how difficult it’s going to be to climb out of the mudpit.

All of which goes to say that those who now see him as such a hit are bound to eventually have second thoughts if he succeeds in being elected.

The really dangerous part of this may take place in the Muslim community. If radicals can argue that his election meant nothing after all, and was merely a ploy of the Great Satan, they will have another valuable recruiting tool.

Of course, on the other hand, there is a slim chance that he may be so talented that he actually can and will change the course of history. If so, America is very lucky to have him, because the current course of our history leaves a great deal to be desired.
